Atlanta vs Denver Preview

Hawks, losers of 10 straight road games take on the Denver Nuggets tonight in the Pepsi Center at 9pm. The Hawks are 0-4 on a five-game road trip that ends Wednesday at the Nuggets. In two of the losses, the Hawks could not hold late leads. Hawks have struggled all year, becoming the worst team in the NBA, with a 3-19 road record.

Some contests such as the previous contest vs Clippers, Hawks have a 2 point lead, but an unlikely 3 point shot by CJ Williams ruins the night. Hawks fight hard nonetheless, coach Budenholzer keeps a consistent rotation, not leaning on experience by evenly distributing minutes throughout injuries and the way guys are producing.

Hawks will have their hands full in this matchup against Denver (21-19) who have battled injuries of their own. Long time Anchorman in Atlanta Paul Millsap has been out for weeks (wrist), and doesn’t seem like he’ll be available for the Nuggets until after All-Star Break. When Atlanta plays well, they have displayed the ability to keep up with playoff-bound teams.
