There is no place like home! On Sunday the Atlanta Falcons (4-4) will return home to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys (5-3). Coming off of a disappointing loss on the road to the Carolina Panthers last week, and with so many questions looming about the 2017 Atlanta Falcons…“Will they have a chance to win their division again this year?” “Is it a Super Bowl Hangover?” “How much is having a new Offensive Coordinator affecting this high octane offense?” “When will this team start to ‘gel?” Winning at home against a very good opponent would be the exact medicine that this team and it’s fans need!
However..this is the NFL.. and the term “Any Given Sunday” rings so true. The Dallas Cowboys are 5-3 for a reason. They are a very good team with many receiving options. They have a very good Quarterback in Dak Prescott in his second year. And they can put points on the scoreboard. The Cowboys defense has been somewhat shaky so they have plenty of weapons to overcompensate for this on offense.
The Falcons look to capitalize on the deficiencies of the Cowboys defense. Matt Ryan should have a nice day at the office hitting his number one WR Julio Jones. Jones looks to have a monster day as well. After his dropped pass last week, he surely looks to more than just make up for it. With Devonta Freeman being limited in practice this week, the two-headed monster running game attack should be in full force. One would expect to see a full well rounded offensive attack, a great defensive strategy and a full four quarters of very good football by two very good teams in the NFC with postseason play being the objective.
